18th Street Arts Center is seeking a highly qualified and energetic Development Director. The Development Director is primarily responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing all fundraising activities including grant submissions, annual giving campaigns, board giving, special events, and major gifts. Primary Responsibilities
* Works closely with the Co-Executive Directors, staff and Board to assist in fulfilling the mission and achieving the artistic vision of 18th Street Arts Center;  Oversee the development and implementation of an annual fundraising event  Prepares, manages, and evaluates the Development budget  Manage correspondence with funders, when necessary;
*     Coordinate with curatorial and finance staff to generate appropriate
program and reports as needed
*     Assist in Board development and fundraising
*     Oversee the integrity of donor records (electronic and paper);
*     Participate in donor cultivation, identification, and research
Prepare and manage grant applications and reports Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written skills; Bachelors and Masters degrees in an arts-related field is highly preferred; Knowledge of the nonprofit arts and funding sectors is preferred; At least 5-7 years of fundraising experience (institutional and individual) and a demonstrated track record of success and leadership in a variety of advancement activities including annual giving, special events, capital campaign, exhibition and program-related fundraising, grants writing, and the production of fundraising materials; Excellent computer and database skills. Seeking Project Managers for Civic Art The new Civic Art Program of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission is seeking to contract with full-time and part-time project managers who will oversee civic art projects for new capital improvement projects with the County's Public Library, Fire, Social Services, Parks and Recreation, Sheriff, Coroner, Probation, Beaches and Harbors, and Health Services Departments.  Applicants should have project management skills and knowledge of the visual arts and contemporary artists.  Project Manager contracts will be issued on an annual basis, but are anticipated to be renewable.  For more information about the Civic Art Program and the County's recently approved Civic Art Policy, please see our web page at http://www.lacountyarts.org/civicart.htm Civic Art Program Project Managers, Los Angeles County Arts Commission These positions coordinate all phases of the development and implementation of individual County civic art projects, as assigned by the Director of Civic Art. Civic Art Project Managers supervise County civic arts projects through artist selection, design, engineering, construction, installation and final inspection of each project, ensuring that civic art elements integrate effectively with County department objectives. Duties:   Work in cooperation with other County staff and design professionals, contractors, Public Works project managers, and artists.  Coordinate artist selection processes including the preparation of RFPs and RFQs and facilitate artist selection panel processes. Advise on the preparation, negotiation and administration of artists' contracts, including development of budgets and scope of services. Assist in monitoring contract compliance. Monitor fabrication and installation of artwork.  Participate in the development of press materials, organization of dedication events, and assembly of project information for the web. Qualifications: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in public administration, arts administration, visual arts, art history, architecture, landscape architecture, construction management, or related field and two (2) years of professional experience administering arts programs or managing design or construction projects, including experience working with selection panels, construction projects, design professionals, contractors and artists. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of contemporary visual art, the ability to communicate well with diverse audiences, and be able to facilitate local decision-making panels, manage project budgets, understand materials and their lifespan, and ensure adherence to schedules. Ability to work effectively with undergraduate and graduate students exploring widely varied practices in a broadly defined sculpture program, and within a very large and diverse art department. DUTIES: Teaching assignment to consist of some combination of courses in any of the following: Foundation 3D, Sculpture, Figure Sculpture, Intermedia, Video, Fabrication, Foundry/casting. Center Theatre Group, the not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that comprises the Mark Taper Forum, the Ahmanson Theatre, and the new Kirk Douglas Theatre, seeks a Grants Writer. This full-time, non- exempt position reports directly to the Manager of Institutional Support.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Produces proposals and reports to foundation and government donors.
2. Produces correspondence regarding grant administration, including
thank you letters, queries, and cover letters.
3. Prepares documents as part of grant applications, including budgets,
expense reports, bios, season play lists, and schedules.
4. Liaises with the Development staff and other departments in the
collection of program information needed for grant proposals and
reports.
5. Copyedits and proofreads proposals, applications, reports, and other
documents.
6. Researches and identifies new funding sources.
7. Enters foundation and government gifts, and maintains donor
information in database.
8. Assists with preparation and implementation of donor cultivation
plans.
9. Other duties as assigned.  
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manages a personal portfolio of current and prospective donors with
an emphasis on Foundation Officers through meetings, phone calls and
other donor cultivation strategies.
2. Assists in the collection of attachments for grant proposals and
reports, including brochures, programs, and reviews.
3. Assists in the preparation of application packages for grant
proposals, including photocopying, filing, and mailing.
4. Prepares and tracks foundation and government invitations to donor
cultivation events.
5. Prepares corporate foundation grant requests for Corporate Circle
solicitations as requested.
6. Maintains good work habits including promptness, adherence to CTG
workplace policies, preparedness for meetings and events, and responsive
follow-through on all donor, supervisor, and staff requests.
7. Maintains a positive attitude with donors and staff.   
8. Works as a team member with the rest of the Development staff at a
minimum of twelve special events each calendar year.
9. Attends meetings and takes notes when necessary.
10. Other duties as assigned.
