Black Writers & Artists Seeking Volunteers for
30th Anniversary Celebration

Adults, youth invited to lend a hand to writers, artists, poets, performers and screenwriters

Los Angeles, CA, July 6, 2004:  Volunteers and sponsors are needed to support events and activities during the International Black Writers & Artists Los Angeles' 30th Anniversary Celebration, August 12-14.

            The celebration, consisting of a spoken word slam, panels, workshops, exhibits, and an awards dinner dance, will take place at the Exposition Park Intergenerational Center, 3980 Menlo Avenue in Los Angeles and other venues.

            Presenters Tavis Smiley, Poetri from Def Poetry Jam, New York Times Bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey, and Pat Prescott from 94.7 the Wave and many others will enlighten, entertain, inspire, and inform readers, writers and artists over the three day period.
